About Us

Joseph F. Galate, M.D. specializes in pain management and physical rehabilitation. His practice as a Physiatrist focuses upon physical reconditioning and non-surgical treatments for disorders of the spine. Dr. Galate began practice in the Kansas City Metropolitan area in 1998 and is well known for the personal and high quality of care given to his patients.

 

Dr. Galate attended Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Upon graduation, he went on to receive his Medical Doctorate degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He then performed a one year internship in General Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. This was followed by a three year residency in Physiatry at the University Hospitals and Clinics in Columbia, Missouri. Dr. Galate is a specialist and Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has additionally received Board Certification in Pain Management. Services provided include coordination of physical therapy regimens, medical management of pain, electrodiagnostic testing, as well as epidural and other therapeutic injections.

Dr. Galate has published in Missouri Medicine and has given presentations to the American Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Medical Education Forum. Areas of interest include the treatment of chronic myofascial pain and outcomes research on surgical and non-surgical treatments of spinal disorders.
